    • Vice President - organize fundraisers and plan graduation ceremonies

      • The beginning of our Junior year in the Sonography program, I was assigned as Vice President of the Medical Sonography Club. Myself and four other members were in charge of organizing fundraisers, setting up community service events, raising and keeping track of the money that was raised during our two years in the program, as well as planning our class pinning ceremony before graduation.

      • This responsibility required extra time outside of studying to be committed to my position of organizing bake sales, garage sales, restaurant nights, etc. Not only did we have to set up the times and evens, but also had to assure that all ran smoothly and our classmates showed up to participate. Together we were able to raise enough money for our pinning ceremony in May 2016!

  • Sonography Tutor

    • My senior year I was hired by South Piedmont Community College to work once a week as a tutor to the junior class. This was a great opportunity to not only be able to give back to the school, but also to help out fellow classmates as I remember the struggle of trying to master scanning techniques as well as protocols.

    • Once a week I would spend a few hours observing their scanning abilities, giving pointers, and answering questions as they asked. As they gained knowledge in themselves and progressed we began timing their scans to help them up the speed to perform better at their clinical rotations. Seeing these students gain confidence in their scanning abilities by me guiding them with the knowledge I had helped me to be a better Sonographer as well.
